Fliptop AIR

Fliptop AIR is our pneumatic system, which opens from one side and exposes that side completely for loading. Fliptop AIR is operated by an air cylinder at the front or the rear, depending on preference or available space. Longer systems are fitted with cylinders both front and rear. Fliptop AIR has a mechanical locking system that locks the roof in the closed position and unlocks automatically when the air is connected. The lock is operated by the opening cylinder, which means that systems with a single cylinder only have a lock at the front or at the rear.
The end frames and the longitudinal tubes are galvanized steel. All pivot points are fitted with bearing bushings, and the pivot points at the bottom have grease nipples. The air cylinder is supplied with the system, but the control valve is not included. As an option, a number of pneumatic components can be ordered, including complete valve systems with remote control. The system is normally operated with a 5/3 lever valve, alternatively a solenoid valve with a single coil 5/2 or a double coil 5/3.
The required working pressure is max 9 bar, depending on the number of cylinders and the length. For example, 6 bar is needed for 9 meters with insulated tarpaulin.

The Fliptop system

The Fliptop system consists of a steel structure and a tarpaulin cover.

Here we take a look at the different versions of the structure.

Center support - for longer systems

For longer systems, a center support must be used to counteract the deflection permitted by the elasticity of the longitudinal tubes. These center supports are available in two versions. The simpler support is connected to the two outermost tubes and serves as a contact surface for the remaining tubes when the roof system is in the closed position. The fully coupled center bow is connected to all tubes and therefore supports the structure in the open position as well.

Your Fliptop system works just as well in winter as in summer, just make sure that ice and large amounts of snow are removed before operating it.

Single-ply tarpaulin - perfect for almost everything

We use 680 g/m² tarpaulin, which is a hard-wearing and heavy-duty material.
The tarpaulin is perfect for practically everything: asphalt, gravel, waste, agriculture and much, much more. Only imagination sets the limit.

Insulated tarpaulin - for temperature-sensitive assignments

Temperature plays a critical role when paving asphalt; with our system you have the option of an insulated tarpaulin, with insulation values (U-value) down to 2.2 W/m²K. Pave hours later in the middle of winter without any problem!

Our insulated tarpaulin consists of 2 x 680g/m² tarpaulins with 10mm polyester batting in between.
